Molina Healthcare, a leading provider of quality healthcare for financially vulnerable individuals and families, helps nearly 4.3 million individuals and families to receive their healthcare through Medicaid, Medicare and other government-funded programs. Enterprise Technologies, in partnership with Molina, implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financials Management, Non-Stock Procurement, Human Resources, Payroll, Oracle Business Intelligence and Primavera Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) in seven months.

With Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Oracle Business Intelligence, Molina has reduced the time and effort needed to conduct monthly closing and to report on its financial data by 20%. By replacing Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Portfolio Server with Primavera P6 EPPM, Molina has also greatly improved visibility into its complex claims processing projects, allowing it to manage projects more efficiently.

Financial Analytics

With the acquisition of a new business unit to expand its claims processing operations, Molina needed to replace its manual, legacy system with a comprehensive, integrated suite of applications to support current and future business needs. The company also needed to complete the project in a compressed timeline. Molina selected Enterprise Technologies to implement Oracle’s JD Edwards Enterprise One, Primavera P6 EPPM and Oracle Financial Analytics based on their deep understanding of the Oracle software and their ability to implement the software in the time allowed.

The Solution

"The installation of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Oracle Financial Analytics Business Intelligence reduced the time I personally spend on our monthly close by nearly 16 hours,” said Joseph White, Chief Accounting Officer, Molina Healthcare. “That’s time I can now spend with my family."

Oracle’s Financial Analytics integrates directly with the Financial Management module of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne via a pre-built adapter. This integration enables customers to improve decision-making and financial performance with complete and timely information on their department's receivables, payables, expenses and revenue contributions.

By moving from time-intensive reporting processes using Microsoft Excel, Word and Access to Oracle Financial Analytics, the company has reduced the number of monthly financial reports from 360 to 15 drillable reports.

Primavera P6 EPPM has enabled Molina to plan and manage the effort of more than 1,200 individuals located from Maine to Louisiana, New Jersey to California, and places between. P6 Analytics is already helping analyze, raise questions and provide answers based on resource allocation and actual effort on over 40 projects.

The tight integration between JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Primavera P6 EPPM enables Molina to save countless hours it previously spent analyzing and reporting on time and labor with Microsoft Project, helping project managers to focus on executing their customer programs.
